With the final weekend of the Premier League season upon us, it seems as though there is little to play for.  The title has been won by Leicester City and Aston Villa, Norwich City and Newcastle United have been sent down to the Championship.  However, there are still the European qualification places to be confirmed and there is plenty to play for.

Manchester City travel to Swansea City, knowing that a point will be enough to guarantee them a place in the Champions League next season.  On the face of it, this seems highly likely and easily achievable but Manchester City have won just 1 of their last 6 games in all competitions.  Furthermore, their last 3 away trips in the Premier League, have seen Manuel Pellegrini’s team pick up just 1 point.  Swansea on the other hand, have enjoyed some excellent wins over Liverpool and more recently, away at West Ham.  There was nothing really for Swansea to play for in those games, so to use that as an excuse to say Manchester City will get what they need in South Wales, is underestimating the home team.

Swansea are 5/1 with PaddyPower to defeat Manchester City and end their season on a high.  Perhaps the best Manchester City can hope for, given current form, is a point, which would be enough for them and the draw is on offer at 19/5 with 888sport.  Gylfi Sigurdsson, Swansea’s top goal scorer this season, is 7/2 with PaddyPower to score at any time.

If Manchester City fail to get the point they need at the Liberty Stadium, Manchester United can take top spot by defeating Bournemouth at Old Trafford.  Having thrown away a 2-1 lead at West Ham on Tuesday night, Louis van Gaal will surely be happy to take a 1-0 win from this game.  Manchester United are undefeated in their last 10 games in all competitions at Old Trafford, 7 of them being wins.  However, out of the last 5 victories, only one has been by a larger margin than 1 goal and even Aston Villa could not be defeated by more than a 1-0 scoreline.  The 1-0 win for Manchester United is available at 7/1 with BetVictor.  Manchester United to win by 1 goal is 11/4 with SkyBet.

Elsewhere, will Newcastle be determined to put on a strong performance for their final game in the Premier League?  If so, Tottenham could come unstuck and leave the door open for Arsenal, who are home to Aston Villa.  Ladbrokes offer 3/1 for Arsenal to finish second.

Finally, if Manchester City are to defeat Swansea, Sergio Aguero is the man they will be looking to for goals.  With Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy having one eye on Euro 2016, could Aguero grab a couple of goals and finish top goal scorer this season?  Aguero to finish top scorer is 5/2 with Bet365.
